Screen pulls out to 40 x 40".  From a nonsmoker home.  Am selling for father-in-law.  Well kept in closet.  If anything, there might be some aging / discoloring of the screen.  Not a "pure white" screen, rather it is a "cream coloring.  Don't know if that is the original color or not.  Screen is portable and sits firmly on the built-in tripod stand.  No instructions, but as a user who has never opened (and not mechanically minded), I was able to open the stand, tilt the screen, open the screen almost to the full size (I am a weakling and pretty sure that there was another 2 inches from the 38" that I locked into place in the open position).  I.E. I did not fully extend the screen and since the the screen is 40 inches wide, I see no reason why the screen will not expand to the 40" tall indicated, if one has an assistant to help on the last 2 inches.  The screen was also easy to "collapse" into its base, and reverse the process to close it all up.  It is a durable screen and weighs in at close to 14 lbs.
