Thanks for looking! This is a Ross Palm button part number 1223D2003. It is metal, not plastic.  The manufacture date on it is March of 1978!! Made in the days when stuff was built to last or at least be FIXED instead of thrown away! This was pulled from a 125yr old foundry. The button pushes down as it should and comes back up, which would leave me to believe it functions. The fittings are all in good condition.  HOWEVER, since I have no way to test it, it is being sold AS IS. Regardless of that, it looks super awesome, and would be an awesome Steampunk decoration! I can see it on a hat or on a wall maybe? Very cool piece, or the very functional piece you need! Only one like it on eBay, everything else I found was made of PLASTIC. Again, this is solid metal.
