                                                                     Sklar - J.R.Tompkins (100-65)                                                                     (Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump)      For your consideration, a vintage medical/laboratory vacuum ( aspirator) pump, made by the J. Sklar Mfg. Co., Long Island City, New York.  My best guess for date of manufacture would be the 1960's.  I acquired it about 1983 and since then it has occupied a safe place, out of harm's way in my home.      The unit is well made, rugged, (weight 16.2 lbs.)  yet provides reliable portability.      I plugged it in and flipped the toggle switch and it started up, ran smoothly and quietly performing its task. All of the gauges, valves etc. work as they should and best of all, you can still buy replacement parts from a  number of sites on the Internet.      This pump is in excellent condition.  ( see photos)      Included in this sale are the original instruction booklet with parts list, the original glass suction bottle with  stopper and valve assembly with float ball.  Also, original utility wrench mounted under the base to remove or tighten  filter cap nuts and the original plastic dust cover.      This is truly a rare find for its age.
