This is a really great example of how things were done "back then" - a great gift for the engineer's office to round out a collection.   This meter was used for it's intended purpose, so the wood case has all the scratches, dings and scuffs one would expect of something that had seen years of daily in-service use. First patent on plate is January 1895, latest is October 1998.  Serial Number 31370.  Wood case is in fair condition - not abused or dropped or anything, just what one would expect after decades of use.  The leather carrying strap has one side is damaged, needs repair. I believe the photos accurately show the condition; Item is sold untested, "as is."  However I opened up the case, and everything looks to be in very nice condition, moves freely, no corrosion or broken parts.  Even the felt seals on the mating edges of the case are still in good condition.   A laboratory-quality instrument from a well-respected instrument company, this is a high-quality AC Milliammeter, and was likely working when the previous owner got it out of his workplace when they were obsoleted.  No idea exactly where this was used or how often.  Probably not at all since the 1970's.  This model of meter was a workhorse in the electronics field until the newer digital instruments began replacing them in the seventies.  While this example is presently untested and uncalibrated and being sold as is, for display purposes, if you have some recommendation on how to test it, I'll do what I can.
