This unit will come to you in almost perfect appearance, and perfect operation. This unit features 2 fixed speed settings ("low" and "high") plus a dial-controlled "variable" setting. We are familiar with the typical level of noise made by lab equipment of this type (shakers, stirrers, etc.) and we did not hear anything out of the ordinary in terms of level or type of noise generated while this unit is in operation. We cleaned the rubber mat on the shaker platform for you. Works fine. We noticed another seller stating that this same model item was made in "Finland". If you look closely at the label on the back of the unit, however, both in their listing and in ours, it states that this model item was made in Germany on behalf of the Wallac Co. which company is located in Finland. (And we're selling ours for less than they are selling theirs.) We have sold many different kinds of lab equipment on ebay over the past few years and with one exception (someone returned an item because they did not know that the smell of warm lubricating grease was normal for that kind of equipment) all our customers have been satisfied. SHIPPING: Free "Economy" level shipping (defined by ebay as a method of shipping that can take up to 9 business days time in transit between date of delivery to shipper and date of arrival at customer's end). Please note that due to built in delays not publicized by the U S Post Office either for Parcel Post or for the joint venture between the USPS and FedEx called "SmartPost" (they wait to ship until they have enough shipments piled up to fit an oceangoing cargo container -- this adds 3 to 5 weeks to normal shipping time), we can't ship by this least expensive class of shipping to either Hawaii or Puerto Rico (because doing so would likely mean we would not meet ebay's time in shipment standards), and because ebay's seller preferences on shipping link Alaska and Hawaii, we can't ship free to Alaska either. We also can't "block" shipments via "Economy" shipping to those locations, without also "blocking" If you want this shipped to any of those locations, please contact us before bidding to see if there is a way to work around this. Please contact for a quote if you want expedited shipping. The shipping box will be 16" x 14" x 10". The item weighs approximately 12 pounds; with box and shipping materials the total weight as shipped will be between 13 and 14 pounds, so will ship at the 14 pound rate (because shippers always "round up"). RETURNS: Allowed if this unit fails within the first 14 days of operation. You can also return this during the 14 day return window if you decide you don't want this after all, but in that case you will have to pay for return shipping and we will also deduct what we spent to send this to you in the first place. We do this instead of charging an arbitrary 'restocking fee' as otherwise permitted by ebay.
