Natural un-dyed waxed linen bookbinding thread 18/3 (Thick) x 20 metres What is it? 20 meters of 100% pure linen sewing thread supplied on two 10 metre card flat bobbins (as shown in the photographs). Coated in beeswax for trouble free sewing. 18/3 - Heavyweight. This thread is the thickest of our three weights. It's most often used when sewing sections of heavyweight watercolour papers or especially when sewing exposed spine bindings where the threads are used in a decorative as well as practical way. Our threads are genuine linen threads specifically designed for bookbinders; it's absolutely the best you can buy for your bookbinding needs. It is FAR superior to cotton thread which should not be used in bookbinding as it tends to tear paper. Our threads are waxed which helps to eliminate knots and makes handling much easier.
