Every component has been tested and functions properly. The list price of this premium set is $1433.00. The best price on Amazon (at this writing) is $879.00! This set features the innovative PanOptic ophthalmoscope (with new corneal viewing lens), the MacroView otoscope and the standard Ni-Cad handle with converter ring. The converter ring enables the user to power the handle with standard household "C" batteries if necessary. We are frequently asked to describe the difference between this set (97200-MPC) and set 97800-MC. There is only one difference between the two sets: Set #97200-MPC contains the corneal viewing lens (#11875) while set #97800-MC does not contain the corneal viewing lens. As an added courtesy to the buyer we have replaced the battery in this set with a premium generic battery with an expiration date of June, 2015. The battery has also been preconditioned for the buyer in order to obtain the maximum performance from a nickel-cadmium battery. Preconditioning is a three-day process that includes the following steps: 1) The battery is fully discharged, 2) the battery is charged for 16 hours and then totally discharged again, 3) the battery is charged a second time for 16 hours and then totally discharged, and 4) the battery is charged for another 16 hours and then inserted into the handle for listing on eBay.
