When it comes to finishing, most conventional finishing products are compatible with veneers when applied correctly. Staining or clear coating are both fine options. Occasionally, veneers may have minor splits or tears in them, but these can be repaired and should not impact overall quality. Some sanding may be required to prepare the surface for finishing and to remove veneer tape, splice glue, or other imperfections. Please note that color adjustments have been made to the product photos to show the color as accurately as possible, but it may not be exact. Backed products with a 10mil paper glue backer have one side with glue substance which we heat up in our press and apply to one side of the veneer. The other side is paper where you can apply your bonding agent of choice to work with. For raw veneer or un-backed products, we suggest researching on the internet to find advice on how best to handle the product. In terms of thickness, paper-backed veneers are measured at 1/40”, wood-backed veneers are 1/25”, and raw plain veneer without backing can be measured between 1/32”-1/42”. To cut the veneer, you can use a razor/box knife or any similar tool along with a straight edge. For the application, paper-backed and wood-backed veneers can be applied with contact cement while raw plain veneer can be applied with white or yellow wood glue and pressure applied while drying. Please note that all measurements are in inches. Additionally, shipping can be combined if you win multiple auctions. Lastly, some raw veneer may have splits at the end, but this is typically not an issue. Thank you for considering our product. This Wood Veneer is made of Crotch Mahogany and measures 48x48 inches with a total of 1 piece that is 20mil Paper Backed. The code "EXOTIC" CRLM24 refers to our inventory. We may also have other sizes and backed veneer available. If you request to have 10mil glue paper backed sheets, we can sand and finalize them for a small additional fee, just contact us.
