The Series 44 Ball Valve has a valve size of 2" with a pressure of 1000 PSI and a temperature range of -50oF to +600oF. It is made of brass with a ball/stem material of 316 SS and seat/seal material of Teflon. The pipe connection is a tube end/socket weld. The Series 44 Ball Valve has tight shutoff, bidirectional flow, and a stem seal consisting of live-loaded PEEK and PolyfillВ® thrust bearings and seals for increased valve cycle life. It also has a body-mount bracket design for easy removal and service of the actuator and brackets without affecting valve or piping integrity. This article describes the Worcester Controls Series 39 Pneumatic Actuator paired with the Series 44 2" Ball Valve. The actuator is a type of pneumatic/rack and pinion with spring return, fail close orientation, and an output torque of 80 PSI/335 IN LBS. It is suitable for use with chemicals, liquor, pharmaceuticals, and solvents, and has a maximum operating pressure of 120 PSI. The Series 39 Pneumatic Actuator has a one-piece steel pinion drive with full-length, nickel-coated rack/pinion tooth engagement, a balanced double rack-and-pinion to eliminate side loads, and an ISO 5211 mounting pattern for interchangeability of mounting kits. It also features corrosion-protected springs, polished stainless steel piston guide rods, and stainless steel fasteners for improved aesthetics and ease of maintenance.
