You will need to purge the iron and water bottle of any resin residues before using the iron on any garment. Let the steam run continuously until all traces of any brown residue are gone, before steam ironing any fabric. When the demineralizer at the bottom of the water container turns darker, depending on time and use, replace with a new bag of deminerializer filter resin. If you wait too long to replace, the iron and solonoid will clog up with minerals and be impossible to clean out. Repairs can cost as much as a new iron if the solonoid (no longer clicks) has to be replaced. If the steam chamber gets clogged up, the only way to clean out is with hydrochloric acid which we do not handle. If you run out of demineralizer, use only distilled/demineralized water until you can get another bag of filter resin. Always clear the lines and iron of remaining water after and before use. Turn off any valve at the water bottle if you are going to leave it off for a long time. Remember to make sure there are no air bubbles in the clear hose from your water bottle to solonoid nipple on the iron before use. Cheaper and more convenient than buying distilled water. Fresh resin will look dark. A black/grey/navy color. When the color turns to a orange/yellow/rust, it's time to dispose of the old and on with the new. Length of time depends on usage.  Gravity Feed Irons only have steam holes at the front by design.  Steaming should be done slightly above the fabric, just before pressing strokes with a then dry soleplate which also helps to remove moisture. Steam is only required to relax the fibers before pressing dry. If you steam at the same time while using pressing strokes, it will add too much moisture to the fabric and cool the iron soleplate down.  Gravity feed irons do not have continuous steam boilers, so steaming should be done intermitantly between pressing strokes, not constantly. That way that the iron soleplate and steam chamber does not have a chance to cool down and spit out condensation . Payment Terms: We accept PayPal and major credit cards.
