Different from the traditional ammeter that employs a shunt to protect the entire circuit, this item uses an advanced Hall effect-based open-loop current sensor made by Honeywell since it completely separate the current from the ammeter. Users now can run the cable directly through the opening (10.4mm x 20.4mm) of the current sensor without worrying about burning-up or inaccuracy because the current sensor consumes low power and there is almost no insertion loss. In addition, the A/D module of this ammeter is still of a successive approximation type which makes the A/D conversion fast and accurate. The self-adaptation ability to ambient brightness makes it an ideal choice in many applications.
