Item Details AlcoTec Almigweld Aluminum MIG Welding Wire of .035" Dia is made of 5356 alloy that has magnesium, manganese, chromium and titanium as the principle alloying elements. Non-heat treatable wire with 1060 to 1175 deg F melting range is classified as a general-purpose type filler alloy. Wire is used in a wide variety of applications as it has moderate high strength capabilities. It obtains white color when anodized and is associated with ER5356 class of wire. Nail wire is susceptible to stress corrosion cracking when the weld pool chemistry is greater than 3% Mg or exposed to prolonged temperatures above 150 deg F. Welding filler wire with .096 lb/cu.in density comes in spool of 16 lb. It meets ANSI/AWS A5.10 (ER & R) standards. Features Non-Heat treatable Principle alloying elements: Magnesium, manganese, chromium, titanium ISO designation: AlMg5Cr(A) Moderate high strength capabilities A characteristic of the 5356 series of alloys is their susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking when the weld pool chemistry is greater than 3% Mg and there is exposure to prolonged temperatures in excess of 150° F Special alloys and tempers are often required to overcome this problem Specifications ANSI / AWS A5.10 (ER & R) Applications Welding Filler Wire Nail wire Product Attributes Diameter » 0.035 in Weight » 16 lb AWS Classification » ER5356 Spool Diameter » 12" Trade Name » Almigweld
