SquareTrade © AP6. C-6999 World's Smallest, Most Compact Assembled Geiger Counter This tiny, fully assembled Geiger counter is only 1.74"L (44mm) X .83"W (21.2mm) X .46 (11mm)thick. Uses a tiny (.6"L) Geiger Mueller tube and an IC circuit to produce clicks and brilliant red flashes of light as it detects Beta and Gamma rays. Unlike some radiation detectors available, this Geiger Mueller counter is sensitive enough to detect lower levels of radiation. This unit will limit about 2 to 4 clicks/flashes per minute in Phoenix, Arizona area from the background radiation level. In your area it may be slightly higher or lower. As soon as you approach any radioactive source or contaminated area, the clicks will increase rapidly. Use this to detect old radium watch hands, radioactive plates, old lantern mantles, radioactive minerals or identify areas or objects that are contaminated. Operates on one 9V battery (included). Fully assembled board (no case available). Complete with operating instructions, 9V battery and tiny crystal storage box. We are a member of
