Mechanical Pencil, 0.5 mm, Black 5 5 4 4 The best pencil ever I started using this pencil back in fifth grade and never looked back. I'm now a freshman in college, and I've only had three of these over the past seven years, they last that long (which helps justify the price). In terms of actually writing with this pencil, nothing compares. I don't think I could ever use a different pencil. At first it looks a bit thick, but the thickness and the weight of the pencil makes writing much easier. I will say one thing, though (and this agrees with what other reviewers have said). It is prone to being stolen. A classmate once tried to steal it straight off my desk when she thought I wasn't looking. But overall it's a great pencil, it feels great while writing and it will last you forever (I only had to get new ones because mine were lost or stolen). November 16, 2012 Lurve it. I've had three of these over the past five years or so. People keep stealing them. I just had my last one stolen today and I'm really annoyed about it. We'd been together for over two years. It's been so long since I've had to shop for pencils and I thought this pencil had been discontinued, so I was actually on this site to glumly search for a similar kind. I'm overjoyed to find that there are more. November 17, 2009 My Favorite Pencil I've had this one pencil since 2002, and I haven't run out of the eraser yet. All I've had to do is add more lead to it. Sometimes I struggle with the price of it, but it's worth on most parts. So I'm intending on buying more to keep myself stocked up. March 3, 2009 Best Purchase EVER!!!!!! I purchased a PhD. pencil about two years ago and have had it ever since. The weight of the pencil is great for a lot of writing and the lead and eraser last a long time. Plus refills are easy to obtain. I have friends who try to take my pencil and I tell them to go buy their own. My boyfriend just purchased six-one for the office, school, the car, to keep with his band equipment, and an extra for me!! Great guy and a GREAT PENCIL!!!!!
