FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION I HAVE 10 + RARE FRENCH GOLDEN CUCKOO MARAN EGGS.I WILL ADD AT THE END OF THE AUCTION ONE OR TWO EXTRA WHEN I PACK . ALTHOUGH I CAN'T PROMISE THIS I WILL DEFINITLY DO MY BEST, BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF OUR HENS. Marans originated in western France in a town by the same name and are known for one thing- their dark brown eggs. Marans eggs are some of the darkest laid by any chicken. As with all dark brown egg layers, the eggs are the darkest at the beginning of the laying cycle. The eggs will lighten slightly then return to darkest color after a period of rest. Marans do well on free range as they do not cause as much damage through heavy scratching. These birds are fast growers and make a good dual purpose breed. Our breeders contain both feather and non-feather legged birds, your chicks could be either type. The Golden Cuckoo looks similar to the regular Cuckoo Marans, but has showy Golden bars against white on their head, back and hackle feathers. A desirable trait with this variety is that the females tend to be darker than the males. This can make them easier to sex upon hatching All pictures are of our own stock taken in 2016. Buyer will recieve nice clean eggs at least the best I can ,because sometimes on rainy days or other poo accidents can mess up your clean eggs which is out of my control, but I will send cleanest I can. I do not wash my eggs. Eggs are double boxed ,and wrapped individually, and securely, and ,padded with packing peanuts, and/ or crumbled paper for minimal movement during shipping. Egg Guarantee: Fertility on these birds is tested OFTEN , AND ARE BETWEEN 85 AND 90 %. Shipping eggs can reduce hatch-ability rate and we do not guarantee eggs to hatch.
