Here's a little information about English Lavender Orpingtons: The Orpington is a breed of chicken named after Orpington England which was made famous in part by this breed. Belonging to the English class of chickens, it was bred to be an excellent layer with good meat quality. Their large size and soft appearance together with their rich color and gentle contours make them very attractive, and as such its popularity has grown as a show bird rather than a utility breed. They go broody very often, and make great mothers. English Orpingtons are rather heavy and are not able to fly, so they work well as backyard birds. Due to their build they do well in very cold climates. On Oct-04-14 at 08:11:14 PDT, seller added the following information:  A GOOD REASON WHY FERTILE EGGS CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED -   Hatching out shipped eggs is hard, there are so many factors that need to be included when someone purchasing them for instance when they are shipped what distance did they travel, what was the temperature between the distances, also humidity and pressure changes that may occur with fluctuations in altitude. These conditions along with the possibility of simple carelessness when handling the package can decrease the likelihood of a successful hatch. On Nov-21-14 at 19:59:24 PST, seller added the following information:I can add a warmer if you wish for $5. If your the winning bidder and wish to purchase a warmer please message me after auction and I will update invoice.
