(the picture shows 100, you get 1000) About Magni Coating Magni Coat is a proprietary coating that provides resistance against ACQ chemicals in treated lumber and the natural oils in Cedar and Redwood. This advanced dual coating is considered top of the line and is used in many high-stress environments, including military applications. These screws are treated with zinc phosphate, a chemical that reacts with the steel and produces a tough, corrosion resistant layer in the steel itself. Then the treated screws are coated with a second aluminum-rich layer as a barrier against corrosion. Why use these screws? ACQ (Alkaline copper Quaternary) is the chemical used since 2004 to pressure-treat lumber. The problem with it is that it is much more corrosive than the arsenic-based preservatives used prior to 2004, and most building codes now require the use of double or hot dipped galvanized fasteners, stainless steel or ACQ compliant coatings with treated lumber.These screws meet ACQ compliance standards.
