107 year old Automatic Fire Sprinkler pressure gauge; Hand built in Manchester, U.K, ( Around the start of world War 1) 1914, by the Mather & Platt company, which was one of the 1st company's to produce fire protection equipment like this product, & as company's do, they get sold & bought, where Mather & Platt was last owned by the Deluge fire protection company in the early 2000's, which no longer use's the Mather & Platt name, where now?, it may have changed hands since then. This pressure gauge, was built to last, & it sure has, (Displaying in 0 to 300 pounds per square inch, which is approx- 0 to 2100KPA)  It was still working when i removed it from an operational automatic Fire sprinkler system 6 years ago, & even though it was working perfectly, i was given the order to remove all that system's pressure gauges because they are all displaying in LBS, which is not in the Australian fire code requirements which require all pressure gauges to display in KPA. So out of 12 pressure gauges removed, this was the only one to have it's glass face 100% intact, & in operation for over 100 years?,  still with it's glass face intact?, & it's pressure reading is only less than 1% out? This States this pressure gauge is pure quality! Also being adjustable, it can be bench reset to the correct reading with a flat head screwdriver & a spanner. All it's parts have no rubber, or plastic's in them, which means it's capable of lasting another 100 plus years more! All parts Made from; Brass, Bronze, Copper, cast zinc, Silver solder, Stainless Steel, & Lead crystal. My trade as a pipe fitter, where I've worked in the Fire protection industry for 41 years now, & during my time in the industry I've come across this same M & P  type 7" inch diameter display face gauge only twice, with this being the only fully intact one I've found! When removing this pressure gauge, i discovered it's connection seal like nothing I've seen before, which was a leather gasket, & in it's day it must of been a good water pressure seal as it had worked for a 100 plus years,  from when it had been fitted back then. Compared to today's produced pressure gauges, where they'll be lucky to last 5 years "Max"! where once they miss read pressure, you got to toss them away because they are sealed, having no way to bench reset them, where this M & P gauge can be put on a re-cal bench, over & over, & keep on keeping on, which it had been doing for the past 100 odd years in operational service. "Note"!- The pressure gauge's internal photos displayed, where it's back brass cover plate was removed for these photo's, & after the photo's were taken, this original back cover plate has been re fitted. This item's starting price means it can go for that starting price, & as far as any lower offers given? Any & all lower than the listed starting price offers given, will not be accepted. This item will be mailed with a mailing tracking number sent to it's buyer.
