KromaPlex® is made to be second surface printed on most Waterbase Inkjet Printers. Designed for all graphics that require durability, high impact performance and consistent bold color reproduction. This film features fast drying and precision ink placement on a completely flat smooth surface. This product is suitable for many electronic applications i.e., faceplates or nameplates and is compatible with most adhesive systems used in such applications. This system will create indestructible industrial graphics, retail signs, trade show headers and displays, as well as point-of-purchase, functional or decorative lighting and freestanding store fixtures, murals or wall hangings. Clear polycarbonate film with a velvet textured first surface and solvent inkjet printable reverse surface. When combined with a pressure sensitive backer, this film is used to make extremely durable trade show graphics that will not tunnel or delaminate when rolled for shipment or storage. Property Specifications G Printer Compatibility Compatible with most inkjet aqueous and waterbase printers. Applications Trade show display graphic panels, point of purchase graphics, decorative graphics and screen print overlays. Software setting The “PSA Vinyl” setting in most RIPs is appropriate. High levels of ink saturation are not required to achieve optimal results. You may find it helpful to try other settings that fit your requirements. Ink Compatibility Compatible with most inkjet aqueous and waterbase printers. Finishing/Post Processing It is always recommended that one of Utopia’s protective laminates or backers be applied to the printed surface. Always use pressure sensitive laminates and a roll fed laminator. Hand application of the laminate is not recommended. The print should be dry to the touch before laminating. A standard mounting adhesive is recommended when mounting to substrates such as PVC, acrylic, etc. When trimming graphics, always cut the softer, thinner material first. With a freshly sharpened blade, cut using a straight edge on tempered glass. Handling Recommendations Due to the absorptive nature of the coating, avoid touching the coated surface with bare skin. Always wear cotton gloves when handling inkjet-coated materials. Rolls are supplied with the coated surface wound out. When rolling graphics, always roll so that the thinner material is on the outside surface of the roll. Shipping/storage tubes should be at least 12” in diameter. Ideal Storage Conditions 50-85°F, 40-80% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store in original packaging.
