Clear Outer Plates for 3M Hornell Speedglas 9100 Series Helmets Each buy it now includes 10 outer plates Due to the way 3M made the lenses for this helmet with the tabs being bent back for mounting the lens, we had to come up with our own mounting system for our lenses. We include 4 delrin tabs that snap into the slots on your ADF or auto darkening filter housing. These tabs stay in and allow you to install our lenses into the our new mounting tabs. We have many pictures shown above so you can see how they install. Save money with our aftermarket lenses. These outer plates are made in the USA They are a aftermarket replacement for the Hornell Speedglas 06-0200-51 outer plates. Why weld with dirty cover plates? Note, the outer plates in the picture are shown with the protective paper on it, which needs to be removed prior to using. Disclaimer: We have had a slight number of customers having issues with these lenses. Most customers (approx 90%), say they love the lenses and they work great. I have talked to the customers and it sounds like when they heat up they glaze over and get blurry. The material we use is about 70 degrees less working temp than normal lenses. When talking about welding temps, 70 degrees difference isn't much to worry about. So for customers doing shop work, hobby/garage welding, or anything besides like being in a ditch right underneath a pipe doing overhead welding with a bunch of splatter coming down on the lenses where the environment temperatures get really high, you will have no issues. Most people's helmets dont get 150+ degrees while welding and those are the people with no issues. So just a heads up with what we have heard from a few rare cases. We are looking into production of these lenses with the same material as the manufactures use on your original lenses. Thanks
