****Thanks for Supporting America's Small Family Farms...same location since 1847**** I have up for auction 12+ BBS Ameraucana "Show Quality" hatching eggs. I always add extras when the hens cooperate. This is my first year for raising this breed of poultry. My stock traces back to Paul Smith. Potential Show Quality Ameraucanas: (not Easter Eggers) Visit ameraucana.org for more info. The parents of these birds are proven producers and show winners in the Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas area. These birds lay a large light blue egg. They are very good foragers and layers. These birds are free ranged every 3rd day. They are Blue, Black and Splash and are produced from the different combinations of breeding: Variety Colors Blue x Blue 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash Blue x Black 50% Blue, 50% Black Blue x Splash 50% Blue, 50% Splash Black x Black 100% Black Black x Splash 100% Blue Splash x Splash 100% Splash I collect eggs twice daily from our hens & I will send clean eggs but unwashed so they stay fresh. They are placed in a GQF automatic egg turner in my climate controlled hatch room at a temperature of 45-65F. Upon Delivery: Allow cool eggs to warm slowly to room temperature before placing in the incubator. Abrupt warming from 55 degrees to 100 degrees causes moisture condensation on the egg shell that leads to disease and reduced hatches. We advise that the eggs be carefully UN-wrapped then placed in a cool-humid storage area. Ideal storage conditions include a 55 to 68 degrees F. temperature and 75% relative humidity. Store the eggs with the small end pointed downward over night or 24 hrs. To help the egg settle. Hatchability holds reasonably well up to seven days, but declines rapidly afterward. Therefore, do not store eggs more than 7 days [Remember to include the days in shipping] before incubating. After 3 weeks of storage, hatchability drops to almost zero. Plan ahead and have a regular hatching schedule to avoid storage problems and reduced hatches. Eggs should be placed in an incubator maintained at 99.5 to 100 degrees. Please Note: It is our goal to always meet or exceed your expectations. We have a lot of experience in shipping eggs. We want you to be successful, so please buy with confidence and do not hesitate to let us know if you are disappointed with your purchase or our service in any way. In the unlikely event your order is lost or damaged in shipping, we will make every effort, at our option, to replace your eggs. These eggs will ship on Monday, March 16th with eggs 3 days or less old. Thank you.
