Item Description Overview Astec built this 12 VDC regulated and filtered power supply to output 288 watts continuously, and 400 watts peak for powering critical IBM storage servers. This power supply was then fitted to a durable steel case, in the USA, for use in many hobbyist applications: model railroads, slot car racing, power for amplifier boards, science experiments, and much more. It also works great in electronics labs as a reference bench top power supply. Based on a world-compatible design, the power supply senses input voltage and works with 100 to 240 VAC mains power, 50/60 Hz, and consumes up to 700 watts of power during peak output. Active fault monitoring for short circuit and over-current conditions is built-in, protecting the power supply from failure. Not only is this power supply cULus recognized, it also meets TUV criteria for approval. Power output is provided by two 1/4'' thick binding posts, which are wired in parallel with the chassis mounted cigarette lighter socket. A coiled six foot, 2.5A fuse-protected cigarette lighter adapter with 2.1 x 5.5 mm right angle, center-negative plug (with power indication) is included for powering mobile accessories; a six foot 18/3 IEC power cable is also included. This can be done by tilting the cabinet back and setting the speaker in place. If the cabinet has bare wire leads, just wrap them around the solder lug connector on the back of the speaker to make the electrical connections. A friend can help hold the speaker in place while you listen to the new speaker. This is, of course, not an optimal way to listen to a speaker, but will give you the opportunity to identify major response problems or poor tonal characteristics prior to mounting.
