The amplifier consists of gain and filter modules. Modules are built on carriers and include alumina substrates, GaAs MMICs, and silicon capacitors and resistors. Modules are installed in an aluminum housing. An inner cover screws down inside the housing. Solder-in feedthrus are used for DC and waveguide probe connections. The outer cover is sealed with an epoxy preform gasket.
