Description ITEM: ONE DIAMOND HAND PAD GRIT SIZE: 1500 SIZE: 3 3/4 x 2 3/8 x 1 1/8" PLEASE NOTE: I did not photograph the label with this hand pad because there is an error on it; it says grit 1800 when actually the grit size for this pad is 1500 and it is stamped on the end of the pad. Diamond hand pads are used for polishing rock, whether it be a granite countertop, marble floor, a slab of rock, or just a crystal with a rough spot or chip. Everyone with a lapidary shop should have a collection of these pads. The diamonds are on one side of a firm foam pad that has indentation on each of two sides for fingers, making this a comfortable tool to use. Each pad is marked with its grit size on the end so if the label comes off it is okay. Also, the label can be easily removed with no sticky residue remaining. Our pads come in the following sizes range: coarsest - # 60 #120 #200 #400 #800 #1500 #3500 - finest This listing is for one pad in the grit size shown in the title and at the top of this page. You must use lubricant when using these pads or you'll damage the pad. Water is fine. The smallest number is the coarsest grit. The largest number is the finest grit. If you want to polish a rough stone from a very rough stage, I would suggest sawing it smooth first or if you don't have a saw, use a metal file or something to shape the stone. These pads are for POLISHING after you have the stone shaped or touch up a previously polished stone. .
