This is a 16 Output High Side Switch module capable of handling Inductive Loads. It will work with any microcontroller that features SPI interface. Arduino boards are based on ATmega microcontrollers and most Atmel AVR series features serial SPI interface. Writing and reading SPI is very easy and fast. Most of the I/O pins on any microcontroller are limited to mA push/pull currents with an additional limit of total power per IC. In case you want to control higher current devices you may need to use this module The OEX16V285 has 16 DMOS outputs suitable for inductive and resistive loads. No problem with relay's high inductive coil, DC motor, selonoids, incandescent lamps...etc. Data is transmitted serially using SPI protocol. Works with any microcontroller/microprocessor. If your uC does not have SPI you can dedicate 5 I/O pins and create your own SPI in the software. Output voltage up to 40Vdc. Each output can deliver continuously up to 750mA. Output short circuit protection, Current limit circuitry, Internal clamping for inductive loads. Serial diagnostic output for overload and short circuit protection allows you to monitor status of devices connected to it. Board size only 2.15"x2.25".
