The Young Engineer's Own Book, Containing an explanation of the principle and theories on which the steam-engine as a prime mover is based, by Stephen Roper. Published by Edward Meeks, Philadelphia, Penn., 1884. 3 1/2 x 6 in leather wraps, 365 pages + 72 page catalog of other technical books offered by Meeker in back. This ORIGINAL book from 1882 is in fair condition. The covers are heavily edgeworn, and the front cover is almost entirely detached, literally hanging by a thread. The binding of the textblock is intact, all pages present, clean, free of marks, but yellowing and becoming brittle. Subtitled "Including the modeling, constructing, running and management of steam engines and steam boilers. With illustrations by Stephen Roper, Engineer."
