Description:  This is the "Yearbook of the United States Department of Agriculture 1905", published in 1906.  The book contains numerous black and white pictures and illustrations, as well as some color plates.   The book consists of three sections: 1) Report of the Secretary of Agriculture for the year 2) A series of reports "presenting the latest and best practical and scientific information at the command of the Department in such form as to be readily understood".  Some of the topics include: moths, fruit, insect enemies of the peach, meadow mice, the effect of inbreeding in plants, ostrich farming in Arizona, prolonging the life of telephone poles, etc. 3) An appendix containing "a large amount of statistical matter of interest to the farming public".   Publisher:  Government Printing Office, Washington   Size:  Appx. 9" x 6" - 815 pages  pages   Condition:  Please see photos. The book is in good shape for its age.
