I was excited to dig this out of the basement at the estate sale of a man who lived to 103. He worked for electric companies his whole life and has some great vintage tools. This meter has been wired with a power inlet as well as a plug. I plugged it in and then plugged a lamp into the inlet and it turned on immediately. I think he may have it wired to actually monitor power usage, but I can't be sure. Either way, it's intriguing that it's wired and it's in beautiful shape compared to others sold. I HAVE NOT OPENED IT OR DONE ANY TESTING BEYOND THIS. Description: This is a General Electric I-10 Thomson Watthour Power Meter with two wires and three dials. This model was produced from 1909 to 1913. There was a serial number on the plaque, but it has been filed off. The glass is intact and in great condition and the plaque is original. It measures 7 inches long by 6 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. The circular face is 5 inches in diameter in total and the glass portion measures just over 3 inches across. This unit was developed to measure low capacity power loads from individual residences. This is a unique design with no features being used in later models. Condition: Very good overall. I haven't entirely dusted it off or cleaned it whatsoever so it could be cleaned up to look even nicer than in my photos. I believe there was a paper label on the back which was removed. Also, interestingly it looks like the serial number was intentionally filed off. Other than these imperfections and some typical cosmetic nicks and missing paint to the exterior it's an excellent example. The glass is excellent with no scratches or cracks. The porcelain? plate with the dials is bright and clean as well. Please inspect pictures. Shipped FREE via USPS with appropriate care... Thank YOU! Payment I have had to take precautions because of people not paying. You will have 4 days to pay, then an unpaid item case will be opened. From this point you will have another 4 days to pay. That's EIGHT total days, however if you don't pay the case will close and show on your Ebay record. At this time the item will be offered to the next highest bidder or re-listed. A case HAS to be opened to recoup selling fees. Shipping I only ship within the US or to eligible Countries through the Ebay Global shipping program (however I don't use this for all items). If it doesn't say I ship to your Country in shipping details, then I won't, no exceptions, sorry. The shipping service will depend on the buyers location and the package weight. I predominantly use Priority Mail unless an item qualifies for First Class, however I will use Parcel Select in some instances particularly if you live out West. I am not a business and I reuse boxes and packaging so my packages aren't always the prettiest, but I do spend a lot of time and effort in ensuring items are packed with care, handled fast and shipped using an expedited service whenever possible. Bids/Offers I will NOT end items early via accepting a buy it now price or even respond to people offering amounts in exchange for me ending the item early. If I am selling an item via auction it will not end prematurely unless I made a mistake in the listing or the item was lost/broken. Please keep in mind I like to use free shipping and shipping prices fluctuate quite a bit. This is a consideration during offers. I may sell an item cheaper to someone closer to me opposed to someone bidding out West because the shipping may be a lot cheaper. Returns/Refunds I offer returns on all items except for items that are being sold broken for parts/fix. You will have 14 days from the time you receive it to return it, no questions asked. If you simply don't like it or it doesn't fit then you are accountable for the return shipping. If i make an error in the listing (and I will from time to time) then I will pay for the shipping back to me. I will make mistakes. However, threatening to escalate cases etc. won't make the process any more enjoyable. I have been accused of all sorts of things while selling on this platform, but when I make a mistake in a listing or an item doesn't function properly YOU WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED and I will lose money on shipping to and fro.  Just return the item, I will refund you every time. I didn't get good feedback by deceiving people on purpose or taking short cuts Feedback I generally leave feedback AFTER the buyer. This is just a little extra confirmation that you received the item and you're happy with it. Regardless, many people still don't leave feedback but after a period of time (enough time where I can assume the item isn't getting returned) I will leave positive feedback whether you have or not. I am not a business, but an individual who enjoys selling on Ebay very much. This is not my occupation, more a hobby. I source items from all over. Estate sales, garage sales, liquidations, auctions, consignments for friends. I do my best to keep buyers happy and them bidding risk free. If I make a mistake I will go out of my way to make things right and I believe my feedback is a testament to that. THANK YOU!
Cosmetically it's excellent overall. Previous owner wired a plug and an outlet into it. I plugged it in and tried a lamp in the outlet and it worked fine. It may be set up to measure power used this way. It definitely completes the circuit and I believe it works.
