Up for auction is a solid and very clean example of the SPECIMEN BOOK and CATALOGUE, 1923.  Dedicated to the Typographic Art.  Formerly referred to as the American Specimen Book of Type Styles and published by the American Type Founders Company in 1923.  A thick and massive book at 1148 pages, in original grey cloth with beige cloth spine. A dense collection of type styles, with visually stunning graphics on each and every page. Included are general jobbing faces, copperplate Gothics, Card Faces, Text Faces, Society Types, Correct Society Printing, Script Types, Shaded Faces, Outline Faces, Typewriter Faces, Calendar Figures, Decorative Material, and much more. The catalogue of printing equipment includes type case stands, make-up tables, galley racks, presses, newspaper presses, paper cutters, binding machines, stitchers, and more. This is considered the last of the large typography catalogues, and a fascinating glimpse into the typographic design of the roaring 20s. In Very Good Plus condition overall. Good luck!
