1933 Carl Zeiss Jena Optical Toolmaker's Microscope

This 82 year old instrument which measures in the English system both optically and mechanically to .0001 inch along a moveable work table, by means of two (2) graduated micrometers. This work table is of machined steel and moves along on ball bearings in hardened ways. The microscope eyepiece is contained with all other optics, in a solid brass ocular which is removable and can be substituted with other oculars. This ocular has never been disturbed or altered in any way thereby insuring its alignment, clarity, and sharpness when measuring.   A 12 inch long removeable artificial light illuminator can be used when needed. The microscope incorporates a column which tilts +/- 8 degrees for measuring off axis requirements. The microscope stands 18 inches tall by 13 inches wide and weighs approximately 40 lbs.  It is constructed of cast iron, steel, and brass.  The weight ensures stability when measuring.   Additional items include a letter from "Carl Zeiss Co." dated 1999 documenting its age and original cost, two instruction books and photos, a separate brass optical ocular which contains moveable thread forms, a grade for holding work between centers, various size standard gauge block, extra glass stages.
