1944 Timber Fallers Manual By Charles Stovall A manual for Fallers, Buckers,  Scalers and Bull Buckers "The purposes of this manual are  four-fold: (1) To increase production, (2) to make work more efficient and less  wasteful, (3) to reduce injuries by indicating safer methods, and (4) to furnish  detailed instructions for the inexperienced." This rare  catalog was written by Oregon native Charles Stovall who worked most of his life  in the woods and who taught school for a number of years. Included are  examples of felling and bucking techniques as well as detailed descriptions of  duties to be performed.  This manual provides a unique insight into how men  worked in the woods in the 1940's. This  catalog was an incredible find.... and may be one of the few left in existence.   Thirty-two pages of  American logging history!   All these pages are scanned   into .pdf files for viewing and/or printing from Windows or Macintosh systems.   A copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader is included on every CD.
