The Workhorse!  LOVED BY TAILORS AND DRESSMAKERS - DESIGNERS AND STYLISTS.  The Singer 201-2 is known for being able to sew anything you put under it.  Leather, vinyl, thick fabric, jeans, denim… then silk and lycra… then leather again.  Frequently graded as industrial and there are lots of youtube videos showing this machine going through 2 layers of cowhide without skipping a beat.  It's also known for properly and beautifully dealing with the delicates.  The Art Deco Cabinet is the icing on the cake. As a designer, I purchased this recently - took it to an expert to have it maintained.  The whole shop told me of what a collectable this particular pairing is… especially with Cuba opening.  It's all original - passed through one family.  They suggested I not even clean it up - that both the collector and the enthusiast would like to see it in its true original state.  Has a bunch of accessories ( see photo ) including rare ones ( I can make more photos if needed ).  All blemishes to the cabinet could be taken out with fine sandpaper and some would want to find the old varnish Singer used in making it ( they said ).  I meant to find a work horse for leather - and they said it could as is, but that someone would rather make it a show piece.  So I'm putting it up here first at the suggested price, and will continue my hunt for a leather work horse.  The photos show it exactly as it was when it got here and hasn't changed.  I watched it sew through cowhide - so I know it's working, accurate, and strong.  I wanted to list it here before plugging it in again.  I didn't clean it up or polish it for these photos ( I know it's old tape residue over the "Singer" and scratched some of the residue off the top with a fingernail).  The SN starts with AJ for those wanting to know.  I wouldn't know how to ship - so it's local pickup only.  If you have a shipping service that will pick up here - that is fine.   This is it's last offering… the more I look at it, the more I'm ok with restoring it myself, and using it when I choose.  Either way, I'm buying another industrial leather sewing machine I can beat on and this for specific pieces.
