This is a well used Ford 8N and while the serial number shows an 1951 that's because its on the motor as you all know. The basic tractor is about a 1949 + or - based on the casting numbers and the steering box (recently rebuilt). The tractor runs starts and runs well but has its moments especially if the battery gets low and the spark suffers. The radiator is new, the exhaust system is new and the system has been converted to 12Volts with the amp meter replaced by a volt meter. See pictures of the gauges - engine running and volts about 14 and oil pressure about 50 but this is just after start and oil pressure drops to about 30 when warm and running, Tires are good and stay up for months on end. The loader is the old Dearborn Jungle Jim type with a small fortune spent of new hydraulic hoses - the result is few if any leaks with a little seepage at the control handles. I got tired trying to add or repair systems fighting the hood and the Jungle Jim loader (need to be part octopus, part snake and some monkey to get to parts so I pulled the hood to have it sand blasted and painted and the gas tank cleaned (non of that has been done yet - see picture) I have a small tank on top of the loader which works very well until I get around to the hood and tank (if I still own the machine) buy it and you can paint it pink if you like! Brake and clutch work fine, I had a little trouble getting it in 2nd gear but with the loader I've been using only 1st. 3rd and Reverse. The left front rim is bent so no high speed rally races on the highway but the frobnt tires are super good and while the steering as usual requires some man handling it isn't all that bad if you let in move as you turn. Oh, the steering... the tractor comes with the GRADER BLADE shown in the picture and that coupled with fluid in the rear tires does help the steering This is a nice combination for doing some landscaping on a small scale or small acreage but it is a very old machine and it is sold as is and there are no guarantees.
