Selling is an advertisement page for: Union Carbide from 1954 This advertisement page is by the Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation. Union Carbide ran a series of ads in the early-mid 1950s, each a painting of different locations and items, each with a large hand or two doing something. It is a series of “Union Carbide has a hand in…” ads. This one is about manganese. The ad shows a hand as a power shovel, loading a string of ore cars at a strip mine. Ad text starts “The metal that strives on punishment” and goes on about manganese and its use in strengthening steel. This ad is full page, approx. 7” x 10”, carefully removed from an actual 1954 magazine. my ad#54F3 Please note the flat-rate shipping for my advertising pages.
