*1978 Caterpillar 518 * * The skidder is For Sale locally Also so Buy It Now before it is to late I have people calling to come look at it!!!! * Looking for a dozer with winch * You are more than welcome to come run it as much as you want I can give you directions. * Very good condition for the age * The hr meter quit working at 2,356 and I'm guessing I have put about 3 thousand on it * Has a super strong Gearmatic winch, not much that it wont pull and Motor does NOT leak or use oil. * Still runs excellent and was used every day until i bought my new skidder. * The transmission is still strong and is a three speed shift on the fly. It and motor both take motor oil just to let you know Not Trans-hydraulic * Just had it painted last year with Caterpillar paint from the factory. * Tires are about 25% and I will throw in a set of old D ring tire chains * The ONLY reason i am selling is because i bought another skidder and i work by myself and it's hard to run two pieces of equipment at one time. * It will need 2 batteries( or 4, 6 volt), the cold winters have finally taken there toll on them * I replaced the bushing in the winch master cylinder and have misplaced the handle and lid but will look for them * The only problem with the skidder is the pump right above the transmission will leak once it gets warmed up. As of now it leaks about 1 gallon every 3 days in the summer * BUT a fellow logger in the county said that you can spend 400 bucks and get a seal and rebuild kit that will Stop the leak I just haven't had time to mess with it * This is for local pickup If you need it shipped I have a guy that will haul it but it will be at your cost! * If you really need a video of it running and operating i guess i can take the batteries out of my new skidder and put in it to get it cranked But when you pick it up there will be no batteries in it and if there is they will be uncharged * Thanks for looking if you have any questions at all just let me know and i will answer to the best of my knowledge
