I use it for cutting my zinc frames to size for my glass. It does a wonderful job. I will say the blades wear out easier with the harder metals so would recommend getting extra when you buy the saw. It will go through 1/2" solid brass and aluminum just fine (lubricant is recommended for aluminum). It bogs down on 3/4" solid aluminum and won't make it all the way through in one cut, so the stock must be rotated and recut to finish. No big deal. The finish of the cut ends is amazingly smooth thanks to the fine tooth blade. The cut is pretty close to perfectly square. Little material is wasted thanks to the narrow kerf. The motor is very quiet. The clamping mechanism works great for 1/2" stock but is a little undersized for 3/4". Overall, I feel the 3/4" rating is overly optimistic but for smaller diameter metal, tubing, plastic, and wood, it does a great job.
