This listing is for 15ml of optically clear 2-part scintillator coupling adhesive, used in the building (or rebuilding) of a gamma scintillator detector. Use this adhesive cement for permanent coupling of a scintillation crystal to the Photomultiplier Tube (PMT). The optically clear adhesive cement eliminates the air gap between the crystal and PMT and adheres the two surfaces together, allowing light to travel though more effectively. This allows more light to pass through the connection, reducing reflection and loss of light by better matching the refractive index of the mated surfaces. This coupling cement can be used on a wide range of crystal types and PMTs, including crystals that are "canned" and have their own coupling window or those that couple directly to the PMT. iRad 2-Part Optical Coupling Adhesive is used when a permanent coupling of the parts are desired. The use of this optically clear 2-part epoxy resin is not limited to coupling PMTs, but only by imagination. This listing is for the 15ml size package, and consists of one each of a 10ml bottle of resin and a 5ml bottle of hardener. This is enough to couple a dozen or more detectors (quantity of couplings depends on size of crystal and PMT surfaces). The 2-part mixture is dispensed in a 2 to 1 ratio and each bottle has its own built in dispensing dropper. Very simple to dispense accurately, and comes with instructions for use. This is the same high quality optically clear 2-part adhesive I use when making many of my own scintillation detectors. The adhesive cures optically clear and is safe for electronics. It can even be used to pot and seal sensitive electronics. Long working time, about one hour. Takes 32 hours to fully cure, but light handling can be performed after about eight hours (let sit overnight).
