One of the great features of StiloTig is its ability to handle short tungstens. With StiloTig, your hands are away from the wheel, and you no longer need to toss away those shorties until they're gone. This saves you time and money. This listing is for one red StiloTig for sharpening electrodes 1/8" & 5/32" (3.2mm & 4.0mm) and one blue StiloTig The Stilo Tig’s patented rotator mechanism eliminates the manual need for rotating the tungsten while grinding. As a result, you get to concentrate on obtaining the correct tip geometry and finish. For inverter AC and DC welding processes, it's essential to use a pointed and/or truncated tip. The tungsten requires a specific grinding wheel made from Borazon® or diamond designated for tungsten grinding. Grinding the tungsten straight, not at a 90-degree angle, on the wheel ensures that the grind marks run the length of the electrode, reducing the presence of ridges that could cause arc wander or melt into the weld puddle, leading to contamination. The StiloTig tool helps the operator to achieve the required grinding angle accurately and provides better control of the process. When rotating the tungsten by hand, a long side and a short side tapered point can occur, making it difficult to center the point perfectly. With StiloTig, the tool automatically centers the point resulting in uniform grind every time. Features of StiloTig What is StiloTig? StiloTig is the Italian import hand-held tungsten electrode rotator that comes with a patented mechanism requiring no electric power or batteries needed to operate. The rotator will use the natural moving motion of the grinding wheel or belt. Made with anodized aluminum and hardened steel, this robust, lightweight tool is design to serve you maintenance-free for years. The StiloTig tool comes in 2 models - one for electrodes measuring 1/16" to 3/32” (1.6mm to 2mm) and the other for electrodes measuring 1/8" to 5/32" (3.2mm to 4.0mm).
