It is similar to silica gel, except that it is a hybrid magnesia/silica material (i.e. a magnesia-silica gel often referred to as "activated magnesium silicate" or "magnesia-silica gel"). Florisil is manufactured in the United States by U.S. Silica Company. This is original US Silica Florisil. As a highly selective adsorbent, Florisil® is frequently employed in the following areas of preparative and analytical chromatography: Extraction of steroids, sex hormones and related compounds Separation of lipids (including monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, free fatty acids, free sterols and cholesterol esters) Decolourisation of fats, oils and waxes Purification and isolation of alkaloid natural products by column chromatography Separation of nitrogen-containing compounds from hydrocarbons Cleanup of pesticide residues and purification of chlorine-containing pesticides Separation of aromatic compounds from aliphatic-aromatic mixtures Purification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) Isolation of antibiotics Assay of vitamins This product is guaranteed to the highest possible standard and is available with all relevant analytical quality certificates. Whether you are planning to load cartridges with this product for automated chromatography or pesticide control analysis, or just to use it as a sorbent for manual column chromatography, you will not find a better quality product at this affordable price.
