Providing contractors with more fuel options to meet jobsite needs, the new HI 400HD Series can operate on either diesel fuel (HI 400HD D) or natural gas/propane (HI 400HD G). The available 20-in (508-mm) return-air adapter give these heaters the unique ability to recirculate warm inside air, providing higher fuel savings and more uniform internal temperatures. These units are designed to operate in the most extreme sub-zero temperatures. Their robust frame design comes standard with cross-support bracing, lifting bale and forklift pockets. A unique cold-weather package enables these heaters to deliver clean, consistent heat, even when ambient temperatures reach –40° F (–40° C). The exclusive 4-in (101.6- mm) combustion air supply system option diverts warm air to the burner further enhancing operation in extreme temperatures. With a large fuel tank that extends intervals between refilling, the diesel HI 400HD D features a two-stage burner with an optional setting for increased fuel savings during low-heat demand. Operating at 85% efficiency, this heater produces 350,117 BTU/hr (102.6 kW) heat output and efficiently heats up to 583,528 ft3 (16,524 m3) areas or dries up to a 195,000 ft3 (5,522 m3) space. The HI 400HD G features an adjustable ball valve with a safety locking device to conveniently switch back and forth between natural gas and LP fuel sources. The heater’s dedicated second blower improves combustion efficiency to 85.6%. With its 329,000 BTU/hr (96.4 kW) heat output and 126° F (52.2° C) temperature rise, the HI 400HD G quickly heats up to a 548,333 ft3 (15,527 m3) space or dries a 195,000 ft3 (5,522 m3) area. Its 100% stainless steel burner head and gas pipe assembly extends service life. The user-friendly HI 400HD Series indirect fired heaters eliminate the open flame that can introduce combustion carbons and water into the work area. Three easily interchangeable supply air adapters – 20-in (508-mm) single, 16-in (406-mm) dual or 12-in (305-mm) triple – provide contractors with multiple options for directing heat to where it’s needed. An adjustable handle and large pneumatic tires integrated into the frame offer simple heater positioning at the jobsite.
