202038 10mm diameter adjustable center shank assembly for tp100 probe 202038 - 10mm diameter, adjustable center, shank assembly for TP-100 style touch trigger probe Convert your probe from a fixed centerline to an adjustable centerline. Adapts a TP-100 style probe with fixed 1/4, 3/8 or 10 mm shank, so that it can compensate for slight off-center variation between the shank and the stylus tip. This capability will enable the probe to be more accurate, when used for CMM type of operations and for edge finding. When installed, the centering shank adds approximately 1/4 inch to the overall length of the probe. The device provides independent adjustment, parallel to both the X and Y axis. Shank is hardened tool steel with a black oxide finish, providing long life and anti-corrosion protection. With the centering shank assembly installed on the probe, the shank can be removed so that a flat base is available. Shown above, sitting on a flat surface. The addition of a flat tool touch stylus ( also shown above, not included, but available separately) will permit your probe to be used as both a touch probe and a CNC tool setter. After installation, the conversion between tool setting and probing functions, does not require opening the body of the probe, and is much faster. Package includes adjustable center shank assembly, 5/32 hex wrench, and instructions for installation and use. Compatibility: TP100 style Probes, purchased within the past 5 years should be compatible, also compatible with all 1/4 shank probes. This device is not compatible with the older style 3/8 shank probes, which had a hollow shank with an internal 5/16 dia spring. The geometry of the inside of the shank should match that shown in the upper left photo of the adjustable shank assembly above. This adaptor will not work with the hollow shank probes.
