THEIR USE: Some lasers, cameras, and other surgical equipment may have long arms or cords that must be covered to ensure a sterile area to perform surgery. They are a one time use, disposable item that is necessary during surgery to cover surgical equipment to keep them clean, and to prevent their surfaces from being exposed during the surgical procedure, so that all surfaces in the operating area are sterile.
