We have all used a plastic jewel case or a plastic cd sleeve and know how they crack and are usually made of a material that can't be recycled. The Guided Products RePlay is revolutionary! The RePlay dual slot recycled disc holder is a great alternative to the plastic jewel case. Each RePlay recycled case comes with two slots for two discs or a single disc and liner notes. RePlay is made of a rigid 20pt recycled bending chipboard. The back is solid, embossed with the Guided Products logo. RePlay is made from 100% Recycled, FSC Certified Chipboard (85% Post-Consumer Recycled / 15% Post-Industrial Recycled). The RePlay is great for storing multiple discs. Perfect for the Band or The Board Room. Dimensions: The RePlay cover (front and back) is 5.5" wide by 4.875" high. The spine is 3/16" wide and each storage slot is 4.875" wide by 2.375" deep. Under FSC certification, forests are certified against a set of strict environmental and social standards, and fiber from certified forests is tracked all the way to the consumer through the Chain of Custody certification system. Chipboard: All of Guided Product's chipboard products are made from 100% Recycled fibers (85% Post Consumer Recycled / 15% Post Industrial Recycled). It’s not that we don’t want to be 100% Post Consumer Recycled, but it’s how recycled paper gets defined. There is a "gray area" in the classifying of what is post consumer and what is post industrial. Take for example, a newspaper or an old phone book. Companies produce an excess of both. If that newspaper or phonebook doesn’t make it into the hands of it’s recipient, then it is classified as post industrial recycled. Post Consumer Recycled vs. Post Industrial Recycled: What’s the difference? Post Consumer Recycled means that a product has gone through it’s life cycle and has made it back into the the recycling stream. An example of this would be anything that you toss into your recycle bin at home (old magazines, used milk cartons, soda cans, etc). Post Industrial Recycled (also called Pre-Consumer Recycled) can be defined as the left over mill scrap or the manufacturing waste left over from making a product. An example of this could be a magazine publisher that has excess paper trim left over from printing a magazine. That material can be recycled but hasn’t made it’s way into a usable product but gets put back into the recycling system. While both are important, it’s better that we support products that are made with a highest post consumer content than post industrial. Otherwise, what’s the incentive to recycle? As a society, we create a lot of waste. We also have a lot of recycled product that needs to find a home other than a landfill.
