It is a non-metallic element belonging to the halogen family; forming purple-black crystals and a violet vapor. Iodine occurs naturally in seawater and rocks. There are both radioactive and non-radioactive isotopes of Iodine. Iodine is a vital trace element for human synthesis of the thyroid hormone.  Iodine Prilled 99.8% USP/ACS/EP listed herein is of the highest quality and originates from Chile.
