Please note that the scintillation probe is the only item included. Cables, test sources, test instruments, and software are not included. However, free software can be found at this link: http://www.theremino.com/en/downloads/radioactivity/. The NAI(TI) Gamma scintillation probe radiation detector MCA spectroscopy is a 2" X 2" device with a built-in signal tap. It is perfect for use with MCA spectroscopy and hand probes. The scintillator comes with a Harshaw/Filtrol 8D8 NAI(TI) crystal and a Thorn EMI 9956KB 10 stage 2" photomultiplier tube. The NAI(TI) crystal is new old stock with no yellowing or separation. The photomultiplier tube comes with a new base socket, resistors, capacitors, Teflon wire, and thick-walled MuMetal magnetic shield. The scintillation probe has a reworked solid brass housing from N.M.C. The housing has an .012" aluminum window and a tail cap end piece. The tail cap end piece has a BNC female fitting for voltage supply containing signal. It also has an isolated signal tap output 1/8" 3.5mm jack that can be optionally used with MCA spectroscopy computer and software. This jack matches the microphone jack on most computers. The scintillation probe can be used with both signal sources at the same time if desired. The scintillation probe has a very good spectrum, as shown in photo 2 and 3, with a 1 uCi Cs 137 source FWHM on low energy 31.8 KEV 3.0% and FWHM high energy 661.66 KEV 5.5%. Photo 9 and 10 show gain with background around 10,000 C.P.M. and 300,000 C.P.M with a 1 uCi Cs 137 source. ( Subtract background from 300K for actual)
