Z87.1 approved. Free Shipping. Made in the USA. Cobalt Blue lenses have been used for centuries as a filter for excess yellow and red from the visible light spectrum and has been used from glass blowing and metal manufacture to filter lenses for photography. Try it for Welding...These add 1 full DIN shade if used for arc welding purposes.  If used for torch cutting, brazing, heating and furnace work they are Equivalent to a Shade 5 Cobalt Glass Lens for IF shades. THIS IS 2" x 4-1/4"  This is NOT heavy, easily dirtied and scratched polycarbonate. It is NOT flimsy, soft vinyl that melts at low temps, scratches when you sneeze and gets stained the first time weld smoke hits it.   This is made from a super lightweight, scratch-resistant, shatterproof material exceeding ANSI Z87.1 standards in a family of plastics related to LEXAN... Which is Fricken BULLETPROOF.  This lens is Water-Jet cut to size, Has Flame Polished edges, a Raised Border, and is shipped to you with a protective paper-backed film coating. LARGE Shade 1 COBALT BLUE LENS Add-on . Standard 2" x 4-1/4" size. Add this to your favorite P.S Alloweld, Mor-safe, Aulektro or other welding filter lens and YOUVE GOT THE BEST, CLEAREST, BADDEST WELDING LENS IN A PASSIVE FILTER YOU CAN BUY. This is a BRILLIANT COBALT BLUE with just the slightest hint of Violet... Similar in basic use and function as the P.S DROP-IN..... but in my opinion a bit better and CHEAPER.  Thicker and more robust Blue,  more resilient and resistant to breakage and far better removal of the yellow/orange visible light transmission. TRY ONE... if you don't agree... send it back for a refund. Made from a Z87.1 approved and certified Acrylic type material that is exceptionally lightweight, excellent transparency, Beautiful color and very durable. It has a raised border, flame polished edges, has a very miniscule hint of violet color to help discern color variations in the welding arc and surrounding base metal and is packaged with a paper backed protective film. these are not made from Polycarbonate. Manufactured from flexible (0.78) 2mm thick proprietary Acrylate plastic material. Lightweight and adding virtually no extra weight to your hood. You must care for these lenses as you would a gold coated glass lens as they do scratch. THESE ARE ANSI Z87.1 APPROVED for impact and shatter resisance, BUT... you MUST still wear polycarbonate clear lenses in front of and behind your lenses. PERFECT Cobalt Blue coloration, FILTERS VIRTUALLY ALL INFRARED, YELLOW AND ORANGE VISIBLE LIGHT. THIS GIVE A TRUE DEEP, DARK, RICH COBALT BLUE AND ELIMINATES NEARLY 100% OF THE FLARE IN ARC WELDING. THESE ARE A FULL SHADE and are a deeper, truer blue than other plastic filters.  This lens will turn your standard green lens into a relatively good blue lens, and will allow you to see the puddle with far less flare. HOWEVER, if you already have a BLUE lens...It will make your already sweet lens into an Exceptionally deep BLUE lens and virtually eliminate 100% of the  yellow/orange... The already exceptional clarity will be increased DRAMATICALLY.  DO NOT USE ALONE FOR ARC WELDING PROCESSES OR PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE INCLUDING BLINDNESS CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL OCCUR. THESE ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR FILTERING THE VAST UV RADIATION SPECTRUM IN ARC WELDING AND ARE MEASURED IN (IF) SCALE. THESE ARE SUITABLE FOR TORCH AND FURNACE WORK AS STAND ALONE LENSES, BUT MUST BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN APPROVED (DIN) FILTER LENS OF SHADE 8 OR STRONGER FOR ARC WELDING. These are manufactured from a proprietary Z87.1 approved plastic material. However, YOU MUST, wear approved eye protection and Z87.1 approved Polycarbonate clear lenses on each side (front and back) of your welding hood. Neither seller nor manufacturer shall be held liable for any eye damage or injury sustained from improper use.
