This is Promotion for Sensoro Central Beacon Battery Management Service and New Low Cost Beacons release.  Yunzi Beacon could be used for evaluation and APP development before the new Beacon's shipment. Centralized Battery Management When we deployed 100+ iBeacons, some of them might be running out of battery and needs replacement. How could we find the Beacons needs replacement effectively?  Other Beacons' solution(High cost, time consuming): Connect to the Beacons to get battery status ONE BY ONE? It is unstable, time consuming and high cost. It will cost you thousands dollars. And it is not scalable. How about if 1K or 10K Beacons deployed?  Sensoro's Battery Management (Easy, Simple, Enterprise level solution): What we need to do is to install Sensoro Inspection Tool (http://www.sensoro.com/docs/#inspect) in your Smart Phone and by pass the Beacons, the Beacons battery status will be collected by the Inspection tool automatically and uploaded to Cloud in a few seconds. After that, we could check the Beacons' status on Sensoro portal (http://cloud.sensoro.com) as below. Our new low cost Beacons will be ready to ship at Jan.2015. There are 4 kind of Beacons with different power supply. They are good for large volume deployment.  The APP which run with Yunzi will be compatible with new Beacons. So it is Ok to do testing and programming with "Yunzi" before new Beacon's shipment. More detail information is at http://www.sensoro.com/2015.html.  The new low cost Beacons' detail information is as below.  1. 4 AA batteries Beacon: Its electric quantity is around 4000 mah ~ 6000 mah (with different AA battery type). The dimension of the Beacon is 60 x 60 x 19.5mm. It is good for common deployment. 2. USB Beacon: There is no battery life limitation. Its dimension is 32 x 24.3 x 8 mm. 3. CR2477 Beacon: It has same battery CR2477 as "Yunzi" with 1000 mah electric quantity. Its dimension is 32 x 32 x 14.1 mm. It is good for scenario with strict size limitation. 4. CR2032 Beacon: Its battery has 250 mah electric quantity. Its dimension is 32 x 32 x 8.7 mm. It is good to be used as a tag.   They share same board as the picture below. The board has same circuit as Yunzi except that it has no light sensor. It has MicroSD interface. Actually, when it could be run as an USB beacon when it is pluged in a normal MicroSD reader (Note: Common MicroSD card can only work when put in computer USB port). And its price is $4.99/unit (>3000 order) and $6.49/unit for retail.     What is Beacon? Beacon actually contains a complete micro computing system, including 32-bit ARM® Cortex M0 CPU or 8051, RAM, FLASH, wireless communication module, different types of sensors and Apps. When Beacon is deployed, it continuously broadcasts information through Bluetooth which can be received by your smart phone without Bluetooth pairing. The working principles of iBeacon technology can be described in the following three steps: A Beacon transmits a universally unique identifier through Bluetooth; A compatible App picks up the identifier then looks up over the internet to determine the smart device's physical location; A smart device triggers an action. We say that iBeacon is a digital coordinate deployed in physical world or is a digital electric label that can be attached to any physical object, location or scene. Aside from the function of sensing its own movement, it can also sense the lighting, temperature around you—this builds up a people behavior perceptive network after being processed by SENSORO SDK, which can be interpreted as a bridge linking the physical world and the digital world, bringing your program or equipment to the era of contextual computing. Developers don’t need to deploy complex cloud system; instead, SENSORO SDK (iOS and Android both available) makes it much easier. Manufacturing process Every industrial process of Beacon manufacturing matters when in comes to quality. Complexity or simplicity, strictness and slackness directly affect the product diversity shown.   Surface. The most preferred is two-color plastic and intra injection molding, but technically extremely challenging. Many manufactures give up this technology because of the expensive cost in repeated molding adjustments in order to ensure stable shape. Common practice would be single-color molding so as to lower cost and save time. While Yunzi chooses without hesitation the best technology-- two-color plastic injection molding.   Metal craftwork? Tough choice. The average manufactures would not use metal for the higher cost and difficulty. Yunzi is one of the few advocators for metal craftwork. In order to realize artistic design, Yunzi designers use the same iPhone 5S frame aluminum alloy processing technology—well-distributed and delicate anodizing sandblasting and mirror-bright upper and lower flames polishing. Micron-grade production accuracy is ensured by high energy laser engraved frame logo and LED micro loophole.   The inner core circuit board is the heart of Yunzi. The average manufactures use green ink PCB process while SENROSO uses environmentally-friendly black ink and matte coating—artistically beautiful even though invisible to users. All contact points and pads are gilded to prevent air oxidation—still durable after long time.   Antenna design also determines core-competitiveness of beacons because different levels of technology directly affect the stability of their wireless signals. Yunzi designers carefully calculate the impedance matching of radio-frequency circuit, also simulate and adjust wireless signal radiation of antenna to ensure best consistency of the antenna transmit signal direction. Moreover, many other manufacturers commonly purchase regular Bluetooth modules and piece them together. Protection design. Outdoor operation is becoming a major concern for clients and Yunzi is water-proof like many of other beacons. But Yunzi is also dust-proof with final ultrasonic encapsulation. It has been tested that Yunzi continues to function well after being immersed in 0.5m depth of water for half an hour. The stated features enable Yunzi to endure in more severe environments There is another good thing from our beacon. Our beacon's signal is more strong and stable. It is better for both notification pushing and indoor navigation scenario.  Below is the test result to compare with other 2 Beacons. It is tested with Nordic company's nRF Master Controller, which could install from Andriod play store.     All three beacons are sending broadcast package with 0dbm and 416ms interval. The Smart Phone is SUMSUNG S4. The distance is 1 meter. And the test result as below.      From the result, we can get conclusion.     1. Sensoro's signal is most strong     2.
