These smaller sized stir bars are great for applications involving smaller glassware pieces or gentler mixing. New, unused PTFE (also referred to as Teflon) material.  Since PTFE is hydrophobic, has high corrosion resistance and is very non reactive, it's the high quality material for magnetic stirring bars.  And our laboratory-grade stir bars are octagon shaped, with a pivot ring for decreased resistance.
