This is a very technical device that is extremely powerful, and extremely dangerous in the wrong hands.  Please understand what you are buying!  This converter takes a 48 volt DC input and boosts it to 200-300vdc (adjustable).  The max output is 3000 watts; the current is limited and adjustable, but if you aren't careful you can overload the device (i.e. if your current is too high for the voltage you select).  The max output is 3000 watts, although the output can be much lower if desired. This was originally used in a PHEV conversion kit for Prius hybrids- it came with a big 48v battery bank and boosted the voltage to match the ~240 volts of the Prius pack.  It essentially charged the Prius battery while the Prius was driving, which gave a large increase to MPG.  Unfortunately, it is highly complex so many users gave up on the systems.  This converter is over $700 new (the entire kit costs into the many thousands). I bought this to try to make my Lexus ES300h a PHEV, but gave up after my battery bank needed to be replaced.  There is nothing wrong with the converter; I just ran out of tine, energy, and money to keep working on the project. This converter has many, many uses; I assume that since you're looking at this listing, you have something in mind.  Just remember- THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN THE WRONG HANDS.  The output voltage can be as high as 300 volts DC, which will KILL YOU INSTANTLY if you don't know what you're doing.
