3500 MILLIWATTS*!  4 W Red/Yellow/Green/Blue MIXED GAS Argon /Krypton RAINBOW Ar+ Kr+ Ion LASER WITH WHITE LIGHT OPTICS!   On Consignment (available for pick-up or shipping from its owner's location) Please read all description and see all photos. BIDS NOT ACCEPTED WITHOUT CONTACTING US FIRST.  If you have any questions afterwards, please email. This auction is for a Coherent CR-MG Mixed Argon and Krypton Laser Head and Exciter/Power Supply. with Schematics and Service / Operation Manual.  It is equipped with "White-Light" optics, transmitter and reflector (in wavelength selecting Etalon, included), allowing full spectral output. It is equipped with an Etalon which allows wavelength (colour) selection. Removal of the Etalon, and repositioning the reflector optic allows all colours to be output simultaneously. BELOW: This laser system is complete, except for missing the emission indicator and output door on the head, as shown. BELOW: The external controls of the frequency (colour) selecting Internal Etalon.  Removal of the etalon, and replacing it with a conventional optic holder (not included) OR just removing the prism from the Etalon and making a few adjustments allows All-Colour, Simultaneous Output. The Krypton produces lines, or colours: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Output listed is from last log book entry. Actual output can vary - higher or lower, depending on many factors including: current level, condition of tube, condition of optics, tuning of optics, operator expertise,  etc. Krypton lasers operate with greatest stability in the warmer (red) portion of the visible spectrum. Blue, and to a lesser degree, Green, can be somewhat challenging to obtain with consistent output, as Krypton is very gas-pressure sensitive. And gas pressure is determined by, amongst other things, length of time the laser is on. So while Krypton lasers happily create substantial quantities of red laser light, the other colours are not only sometimes unstable, they are of lesser power than the red, when they're stable. One Solution: Argon has very stable Green and Blue output, and no red output. Mixing the two gases, as this laser is designed for, yields, from ONE LASER, red, yellow, blue and green, in fairly close apparent visual intensity, when the gas pressure and vacuum are stable.    BELOW: The pristine condition of the Rear Brewster Window is shown.       BELOW: The Cathode end of the tube, showing Brewster Window.     BELOW:  Here's an opened view of the Laser Head. Note the very large gas stabilization/refill tank in the upper left. This laser was operating when removed from service.  The owner doesn't have what is needed to test it, and I no longer have time to, so while I can see the laser system is complete and in good physical and cosmetic condition, the unit is sold AS-IS. IT MAY OR MAY NOT REQUIRE REPAIRS.  BUYER assumes all responsibility for any and all needed or wanted repairs.  It has been carefully stored in an environmentally controlled, stable environment.  We recommend purchaser secure insurance to protect the buyer in case of loss or damage during shipment.  By placing your order, you indemnify us against any loss or damage. We are not responsible for the condition the item is received, and it is sold AS-IS, with no returns accepted.  Sufficient experience, and willingness to repair this laser is required to purchase it, unless you express to us that you are purchasing it solely for parts.  BELOW: The Umbilical Connections that come from the Head, which connect to the back of the Exciter.  Note the water hose connections too. This is a water-cooled laser, requiring about 2.2 gallons per minute, 40 PSI water source (standard) and a suitable drain for low pressure, 1-2 gallons per minute. The laser requires 3 phase 208 VAC, 35 Amperes. It is terminated in bare, 4 wire, for your connectors. The exciter includes a Buck/Boost Transformer to accommodate line voltages 185-245 VAC. *ABOVE: The warning label on the head. 4 watts (or 4000 Milliwatts) is a theoretical limit of output. It actually varies depending on many factors such as current, tube pressure, optics, condition of optics, etc. This system has generated 4000mW with just-cleaned optics and at maximum rated current. BELOW: The FRONT PANEL CONTROLS of the Exciter/Power Supply.  BELOW: The interior of the Exciter.  Clean.     The included WHITE LIGHT OPTICS can cost you more separately than this asking price for the WHOLE LASER. YOU ARRANGE FOR SHIPPING PICK-UP from consignee's location. Local pick-up is recommended and FREE, of course. Preparation for shipment and crating can be made available for additional cost, please inquire. Confirmation in writing that entire ad has been read, understood, and agreed upon, and shipping arrangements made, with costs understood and agreed upon, is required prior to acceptance of any bid.   We recommend you arrange shipping insurance with your shipping agent to protect you in case of loss or damage during shipment.
